Owen Scott, P.Geo. - Geoscientist

Owen is a professional geoscientist with an academic background in geology, hydrology, geomorphology, and forested watershed management. He received an associate degree in Earth Science and Geography from Okanagan College in 2010, followed by a degree in Earth and Environmental Science at the University of British Columbia Okanagan campus in 2015. Prior to starting his career with SCL in 2019, he gained experience working as a forestry technician, which included performing stream analysis, road and GPS surveying, and silviculture plots. Owen also worked for three years as a geoscientist with a professional engineering firm focused on green energy and geo-exchange engineering. In this role he was the project manager of technical report writing and the primary government technical reviewer liaison. Some of the other areas Owen has experience working in include hydrological assessments, flood analysis mapping and modeling, and applied fluvial geomorphology field techniques. Since joining the Sitkum team, Owen has been actively involved in landslide investigations, terrain stability assessments, drainage plans, and road construction prescriptions.
