Jennifer Sabean, M.Sc. P.Geo. - Geoscientist

Jenn is a Professional Geoscientist (as of 2011) who joined the Sitkum team in 2007. She received her undergraduate degree in Earth Science at Dalhousie, Halifax, N.S., followed by her Master’s degree in Earth Science at Simon Fraser University, Vancouver, B.C. As a project geoscientist with Sitkum, Jenn is involved in terrain stability assessments, drainage plans, landslide assessments, and resource road prescriptions. She is also involved in aggregate resource exploration and development, and has worked on numerous aggregate resource projects throughout southern B.C., including equipment hire, resource surveying, testing, and mapping, site assessment and pit development.  Jenn has successfully applied for a variety of permits for the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure, as well as many private clients. She was the original OHS Representative for Sitkum and is qualified as a BC Forestry Safety Council SAFE Certified Company internal auditor. She sat on the Executive Committee for the Division of Engineers and Geoscientists in the Resources Sector (DEGIRS) from 2019 to 2023, with the responsibility of managing the annual student bursary. She was selected for the new Natural Resources and Natural Hazards Advisory Group for EGBC starting in 2024. She was the company lead on getting SCL OQM certified in 2020 as part of the new Professional Governance Act with EGBC and is now the Responsible Registrant for the firm.
