Dave Karassowitsch, R.P.F. - Road Foreman

Dave graduated from the Faculty of Forestry at the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Science in Forestry degree and has been a Registered Professional Forester since 2000. He joined the Sitkum team in 2024 as a road foreman.

During his nearly 20 years in forestry consulting, he has gained extensive experience in forest appraisal, timber cruising, cruise compilation, all aspects of forest planning and forest development while employed with a major international consulting firm based in Vancouver, BC and a local forest consulting firm in the Kootenays. He has worked on and led teams through forest planning projects in both private land and crown land settings in the Kootenays and in the north-east region of BC. David was employed for 9 years with a major BC industrial forest licensee supervising operations including road construction, maintenance and deactivation and forest harvesting with ground-based, overhead cable, tether and helicopter logging equipment. David has also gained environmental project experience while employed with a local power project developer and working alongside a local environmental consultant with field operations in the West and East Kootenays and on the coast of BC.
